Last night’s Bandemonium 2015 Battle of the Bands showcased several of the most promising bands from the Los Banos (LB) local band scene. Presented by the U.P. Jammers’ Club as part of their 23rd anniversary, the event was held at a recently opened bar Duplex Tavern.

The night saw the bands perform various genres of music from alternative, pop rock, OPM, blues to metalcore. Hosted by emcees from the UPLB Jocks, Bandemonium 2015 was attended by members and friends of the U.P. Jammers’ Club as well as the performing bands’ friends and supporters.

Competing bands included Daisy Sais, Pasador, Skrappy Koko, Iamwhy, Tetrad, The Senti Call, Skygrid, Blupoint, Gray Paborita, Krakken and Amber.

Several U.P. Jammers’ Club bands also performed, including Space Lorns, Worth the Weight and All Sudden Smiles.

Special awards were given to Earl Andrade (Blupoint) – Best Guitarist, Daisy Elbo (Daisy Sais) – Best Vocalist, Matt (The Senti Call) – Best Bassist, and  Romnick Dosdos (Skygrid) – Best Drummer.

The judges had a hard time choosing a champion, with competition scores being very tight. At the night’s end, a choice had been made and the Bandemonium 2015 championship went to Skrappy Koko, winning them a cash price of 3,000 Php and a slot to perform alongside an all-U.P. Jammers’ Club gig lineup on Freshmeat 2015. Runners-up were bands Skygrid and Blupoint. All three winning bands also get to have a free recording session at The Whiteroom Studio.
