The U.P. Jammers’ Club celebrated their 23rd anniversary last October 8, 2015 at Duplex Tavern with Freshmeat, a night of music from fresh and ‘veteran’ bands, all products of the socio-cultural organization based in the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

Original and cover songs were heard that night. Various musical genres filled the bar – from alternative to metal to jazz to funk to blues. Booze was free-flowing, and everyone had one goal: to party.

Skrappy Koko, winner of Bandemonium Battle of the Bands, which was organized by the U.P. Jammers’ Club the previous night, opened the show. Other bands who graced the stage include Sunset Blvd, Mr. Shly, The Near Death Experience, Untold, Deathrow, Last Action Heroes, Embercore, Asylum Excursion, Random Wallflowers, All Sudden Smiles, Save Alex Movement, and Sucker Fish. An impromptu performance by members of Sucker Fish and Dr. Strangelove capped the night.

The U.P. Jammers’ club was established in 1991 and was officially recognized in 1992. The organization caters to musicians of all genres and aims to keep the local music scene alive.
