Local acts graced the stage as Project Comeback proceeded after a two-week delay. From Duplex Tavern in Los Baños, Laguna, resonated music from mostly LB-based bands and artists. The music scene here is a tight-knit community, embracing all kinds of genres.

Bands and artists who performed included Gnarrate, The Near Death Experience, Palmera, Asylum Excursion, Save Alex Movement, Jen Rogers, Pagsanjan-based Venok Learns to Rock, Cainta-based Destroy Pretty Boy, Last Action Heroes, and Embercore.

Tata Aguiero, one of the event organizers and vocalist of Embercore, said the goal of the gig was to show the younger generation that the local music scene needs to make a comeback, “Nagpa-gig para makita ng mga younger generation na dapat ibalik ‘yung scene. Kaya nga s’ya Project Comeback sana.”

Nakaka-disappoint din ‘yung mga process na ‘di naman kailangan,” Tata continued, referring to the gig’s postponement due to venue permit issues—one of the challenges on this side of town. Nevertheless, the local music scene continues to thrive.

Project Comeback was presented by Team Illustrados in cooperation with Macbeth, Pulp Magazine, and Smirnoff Mule.
